Production Meeting 1

Today we had our first production meeting for our coursework. We had to generate ideas about our plot to our beginning of our thriller. To do this my group members and i constructed a spider diagram to help display our list of ideas. After placing our ideas on a spider diagram we decided as a group which plot was best in terms of storyline and camera usage and setting. In the next meeting we will be storyboarding our plot.

What My group did part 1

In my group we made a film. My group members consist of Rasheed, Femi, Simon and myself. Our group made a film about a son who is not achieving his expectations of his sixth form tutors and mentor and is confronted by his teacher of business studies and is then in trouble with his Nigerian father. Rasheed played the role of the Business studies teacher , Simon played the role of the Nigerian father and I played the role of the troubled son.

Preliminary Task

The preliminary task is a demonstration of continuity editing.
  •  Match on Action
  • 180 degree rule
  • shot reverse shot
Match on Action is when a character is doing an action in one shot and continuing it in the next shot.
180 degree rule- 2 characters in the same scene should always have the left right relationship.
Shot reverse shot is when someone is talking and they are being viewed preferably from an extreme close up then the reverse shot is seeing another person who is talking to the first person in the same conditions but on the other side of the main character.
